President Obama gave an address to a joint session of Congress last night. From the clips I heard, it was a good speech.
I support 100% of citizens being covered and a public option. What is unclear to me is how the unemployed and poor are insured. If we are all paying taxes to make that happen, why not drop my employer’s health coverage and fall thru to the public plan? If the reason is that the public plan is significantly inferior, that is troubling. If the public plan is a decent floor for us all and we can buy supplements, that is more appealing.
Obama, just socialize the whole thing like a number of developed countries have and simplify everything.
